Peek Behind the Scenes of being a Stay-at-Home wife, homeschooling mom and a StoryMaker!
Want a sneak peek of how I do it all? Let’s take a look at how I’m able to clean, teach, and work.
Being a stay-at-home mom can be exhausting. There are days that I have no motivation to even get up out of bed. I have ADHD so that puts an extra hindrance on things, like multi-tasking, hyper-focus, procrastination, distractions, etc.
My day isn’t much different than yours! I had to sit down and create a routine that worked for me. I have a morning routine that helps me get ready for the day. Then the afternoon I don’t schedule too much. I have my 15 minutes of zone cleaning and an hour for a daily focus chore. Then I have a evening routine, so around dinner, that I quick “close” the kitchen and get ready for the next day with a quick tidy. I feel so happy in the morning when I wake up and the house is looking tidy. I then have a night routine where I get ready for bed. I am just starting a new system to help remind me what I need to do that day. Task bracelets. Today is the first day and already feeling the dopamine working when I finish a task and can take off a bracelet.
You’re probably wondering when i have time to work my PaperPie business? I start off by making a to-do list. I then know what I have to focus on when the time comes. I do break up the 4 hours I work a day throughout the day. This helps me focus (along with timers) on just PaperPie and not get distracted. I have my daily checklist that I do everyday, and then there is always something extra to do if I get my daily things done. I do one hour in the morning right after my morning routine and before I teach school. I then have lunch and do some cleaning. Then I do a PowerHour, then go do something else. This helps my son also so he has to only wait a short time while I work. Then after a bit I work for another hour before making dinner. Then in the evening I have my book gatherings or do some more work all before my evening routine or night routine.
Sure, being a stay-at-home wife/mom and a StoryMaker has it’s challenges, but with the right mindset and systems, it’s also incredibly rewarding. If you’re considering becoming a StoryMaker, I encourage you to take the leap. With the support of the PaperPie community and your loved ones, you can achieve great success while still being there for your family.
